Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about training with Ebonylance GentleRide.
Do I need my own motorcycle to start?
For closed-lot beginner courses we provide training motorcycles. For road-based sessions you may use your own insured bike if it meets safety checks.
Which protective gear is required?
Helmet (DOT/ECE), over-the-ankle boots, gloves, long pants, and a durable jacket are mandatory. We recommend a back protector for intermediate/advanced rides.
Do you help with the licensing exam?
Yes. Our Exam Prep tracks the DMV pattern and provides mock tests on a closed lot. You’ll receive targeted feedback and practice time on cones.
What if it rains or the forecast changes?
We operate in light to moderate rain with adjusted drills. Severe weather triggers free rescheduling. Rain riding is a valuable real-world skill.
How many students per instructor?
We cap groups at 4:1 on the lot and 2:1 on the road to maintain attention and individualized coaching.
Can I book private lessons?
Absolutely. Private coaching lets us tailor drills to your riding goals and comfort level. See “1:1 Coaching” in the catalog.
Do you offer women-led sessions?
Yes. We host women-led groups with an emphasis on calm pacing and peer encouragement.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancel 48 hours prior for a full refund. Within 48 hours, we offer free rescheduling once per booking.
